Our little orange squid will find his way deep into your heart, no matter what your age. This is the first kit of its kind, with many more creature kits to come!
The kit includes:- Wool yarn from the sheep at Kenny Kirkland's Woolly Egg Farm in Mill Valley, and milled at the Yolo Wool Mill
- Organically grown, hand-picked coreopsis from Rebecca Burgess's dye garden on Mt. Barnaby in Lagunitas
- An illustrated booklet, complete with dye instructions by Rebecca Burgess and a knitting pattern and illustrations by designer Dyan Ashby
All this comes ecological packed in a ball mason jar, which also functions as your dye vessel!
The kit is an education for all, and especially children, giving them the ability to see how botanic color is made. In the summer you can just put water and the coreopsis flowers in your jar, and set it in the sun to make your dye. In the winter you can add hot water to your flowers, and voila!
The pattern is for advanced beginner and intermediate knitters. Any beginning knitter can make this pattern with a bit of guidance here and there.
