Japanese indigo seeds / Lagunitas grown

$4.75

Japanese indigo (Polygonum tinctorium) has been used for centuries to create a rich blue dye. The plant is easy to grow as an annual, and the leaves may be harvested 2 or 3 times during the growing season for a fresh dye vat.

Each packet contains approximately 100 seeds, with planting instructions. Seeds will be mailed starting November 15th, and through Spring of 2012.

These seeds were harvested from a working farm in Lagunitas, California, on a wind swept hillside with on and off periodic summer fog, and summer temperatures ranging from 68-95 degrees. In Sunset climate zone 16.

We also offer indigo seeds harvested from plants grown in other climates as well (San Francisco, Oakland, San Anselmo, Capay Valley), so check our seed listings for a climate most like your own.
